The apparent tornado touched down in the area of Forest Park, home to the St. Louis Zoo and the site of the 1904 World's Fair and Olympic Games.

The National Weather Service Tuesday assigned an EF-2 rating to the twister after studying scattered signs of damage in its path about 25 miles southwest of North Platte Monday night.
