Gavin & Stacey has teased fans about that infamous fishing trip for one last time, showing viewers some actual footage of the incident.

Over 12 million people tuned into the Gavin and Stacey finale on Christmas Day, and while it was the perfect ending, many viewers felt robbed of the opportunity to know what went down on Bryn (Rob Brydon) and Jason's (Robert Wilfort) infamous fishing trip.

One of its stars, Alison Steadman, plays Essex-born Pam Shipman on the programme. The character is known for her distinctive accent, so viewers were left disoriented after Steadman spoke in her natural voice. Born in Liverpool, the star has barely any traces left of her hometown’s accent, instead speaking in an RP (received pronunciation) accent.

One hilarious bit of background that was revealed about the finale was the difficulty in tracking down one cast member for the last episode. Gavin and Smithy's friends returned for Smithy's stag do and wedding, and Daniel Jeffrey, who last played Simon well over a decade ago, had to be "tracked down" for this appearance.
