The Dallas-Fort Worth area and other parts of Texas are under a winter storm watch as North Texas braces for the arrival of snow and wintry mix. The National Weather Service issued the watch from midnight Thursday through at least 6 p.

Currently, the forecast is showing 1 to 3 inches of snowfall in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Heavier amounts from 3 to 5 inches are possible in northern counties near the Red River.

Forecasters are closely monitoring the potential for another high-impact winter storm that’s expected to blast across the U.S. this week, just days after the first major winter storm of 2025 comes to an end.
