A snowstorm made its way through East Tennessee on Friday, leaving plenty of snow across the area that will linger for a few days.

As crews continue to clear roads so drivers can get around safely, the Tennessee Department of Transportation released that more than 100 crashes happened in East Tennessee between midnight Friday and Saturday morning.

TEMA said people should expect road conditions to remain bad through the rest of the night. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing during the day this weekend, but that will create the risk of snow melt refreezing and turning to ice on the roads, particularly roads with a lot of trees and shade, and rural back roads.

Wintry conditions led to 118 reported crashes across East Tennessee, according to a recent release by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Despite the snow, TDOT cameras showed steady traffic on the I-55 and Hernando DeSoto bridges. Streams for other routes showed minimal disruptions.
