The Fire Map draws near real-time 911 dispatch call data from PulsePoint. Emerging and ongoing wildland fire location and boundary data are provided by the National Interagency Fire Center IRWIN feeds. FIRIS (California only) provides early fire perimeter and 3-hour forecasting models.

Evacuation Order: An immediate threat to life. This is an order by law enforcement to leave immediately. The area is lawfully closed to public access. Evacuation Warning: A potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately.

Some of the Sheriff's Department's patrol units are now equipped with a new siren feature to alert residents to evacuation orders during emergencies, such as a fire or flood. The system also is equipped with an external PA system that can play recorded messages to notify residents about the need to evacuate.
