May 31, 2006 · Bagshot Park was shown to Prince Charles, Andrew and Anne as a possible place to live. The Queen Mother wanted to buy it in the 1980's but the Queen advised against it. The QM used to visit the house even when the army was renting it.

May 31, 2006 · On reflection maybe Bagshot wasn't such a good choice, the house is in relatively small grounds so can't be farmed out and used in the same way as Anne can use Gatcombe. In other words Bagshot is a large house with not all that many ways of making money
