Dec 16, 2025 · Believe it or not, it’s the all-new Renault Clio. Yep, clearly Renault’s design team decided that its best-selling car ever was done being cute, friendly and a little bit chic.

The Clio V6 was 171mm wider than a regular Clio, and its tracks were 110mm wider up front and 138mm at the back. It used staggered wheels and tyres, too, the rears fatter than the fronts.

Because it was with this car that my Clio obsession began. Its story started in the late 1990s with the Clio V6 Trophy, a one-make race series designed to promote the new Clio range.

Inside the winning smile fades. Like the Mini, this is essentially a heavy facelift of a car that’s been around for over a decade, and this Clio platform has always felt cramped.
