One reason we stopped camping some 5 - 6 years ago was the State of Florida went to reserve america for its reservations and unless you book 11 months to the day, most of the good sites are gone. That and the cancellation fee, change fee, and having to pay for camping in full 11 months ahead of time.

I don't have first-hand knowledge of October weather in those areas. I only seem to make it on the road in the summer as I'm usually searching for heat.
