May 29, 2016 · Chassis saver the best! Some like por 15 also. There is rustoleum industrial spray cans direct to metal. Find at NAPA for about $7 a can. Bigger size can too. Por 15 spray is twice that. Por 15 has a topcoat spray now too in gloss or semi gloss. Can you tell I work at napa. LOL. The paint isle is mine to up keep and stock.

Mentioned that when buying automotive paint at the local supply and they said other paints wouldn't work over the Rustoleum. Used the Rustoleum primer and color coat combination rattle can, seems to sand ok without clogging the paper.

Jan 14, 2018 · I started buying Rustoleum in qt. cans and have a Harbor Freight gun dedicated for that use. Thin it with acetone and it works great for chassis and fender well and floor pans. Way cheaper than spray bomb paint. The new spray bombs have a tendency to have more leakage around the nozzles and plugged up cans .

Mar 26, 2012 · after using rustoleum primer and getting very poor results i found this Mr.Rustoleum thread. i'd bought rustoleum primer and color coat but after the crappy results from the primer and reading the other post i don't think i want to use the rustoleum for the color coat. the primer coat will have to be sanded to even consider using it.

Jul 31, 2019 · Sounds like time for a test panel. I'd say most of the Rustoleum Alkalide brigade doesn't even consider clear coat though as that jacks the cost up. My boat tail roadster project will get a farm equipment paint paint job simply because it is a seriously low buck project. The tires will probably be the most expensive part of the car when it is done.

Valspar hardener, or any enamel hardener works in these paints. Spray or brush is fine. ** spray cans from home improvement store are junk, they've been regulated so hard the paint in them is horrible.

I have read that any type of enamel hardener will probably work but I used the Majic just because it was readily available at the local Rural King store.

I've been trying to finish spraying a 60-ft gate/fence out back, and w/o thinning the paint (Hammertone) at least 4:1, it comes out too thick.
