Today I decided to send a book using a flat rate Priority Mail envelope. It was a thick book and t filled the envelope, though the envelope easily closed on its own. The book fit fine. When I brought it to the window at the post office, the clerk informed me that flat rate envelopes are limited to 3/4" in thickness.
