There's a Govee HA add-on available now that looks promising
So govee stuff is slowly, maybe gonna be supported and not require their apps/accounts etc? I believe someone recently asked Linus on an LTT WAN show that with them taking more Govee sponsor spots on videos etc if they were going to prod them about open source / HA or otherwise.. maybe this is a part of that?

Likely the same, but it’s usually in the smaller details where the “devil is hidden” such as using the same model number for the same product but the firmware is different (and not able to be updated on the older) rendering certain functionality unavailable for example.

So what is the Workshop? It's a separate feature available largely on Govee lights that are linear in nature. Glide 3D, Downward String Lights, Christmas String Lights, Permanent Lights, etc. Not Hexa, not Hexa Pro, etc.

I went with two 100’ sets because the 200’ set I was going to need a very long jump 25-30’ and was not sure if they would function with that long of jump. So I went with 2 100’ sets and 2 controllers that I was able to group together in the app.

Create routine: when X happens, Perform action - smart home - groups - (this only lets you select solid colors, I just checked) You’d have to do smart home - select one of the devices. Then you get scene options, and you’d have to set up multiple actions.
