May 17, 2020 · This is curious. I regularly use FCPX, and have never approached using anywhere near that much RAM. Disk space - yes. Projects regularly run well beyond 100-200GB, mostly due to background rendering. But system memory is usually no more than 5-7GB, and video memory also about that amount.

My I9 is faster, even if I use a project on an external SSD Drive on the I9 and and the same project within the internal M1 drive (sorry if this sentence is confusing).

Feb 10, 2013 · 0 dB in FCPX is the same as 0 dBFS in FCP 7. In essence – X’s meters are PPM’s and not VU’s. If you’re looking to meet a -12 dB target, using the FCPX Limiter or Compressor is fine. OTOH it’s slightly less intuitive when compared to using something like Nugen’s ISL or Wave Arts Final Plug. (I own both and I’m not affiliated).

Jun 23, 2016 · After you’ve done this a few times, you realize a different grouping would be more efficient. So you go into your Motion Templates folder and reorganize a bit. Afterward, everything shows up just the way you want it in FCPX, perfectly usable, but some of your projects show your effects / titles / generators as Offline (even though they aren’t).
