Feb 20, 2023 · I have the 2014 Honda CRV and the key fob is having trouble opening and locking the doors. Thinking the battery might be getting weak (in use since 2014), I took the key fob apart. The battery tested out at 3,01 volts. I had some new CR1620 battery's with a use by date of 03/2025 and they tested out at 3.21 volts.

Dec 9, 2020 · Placing a 1620 where a 2032 belongs likely will result in poor battery contacts which could render the fob inactive or intermittant. Placing a 2032 where a 1620 belongs likely will cause damage to the small clips that are generally used in all devices that hold this class of batteries in place. NEVER substitute one size button battery for another.

Jan 29, 2024 · This is not a key fob, it's just the key with the buttons. I've tried 5 or 6 different ways to reprogram - mostly the turn it of an on multiple times variations, and no luck. Anyone know how to do this. I had to do it before on a Chevy and it was simple, can't believe Honda wouldn't do better.

Jan 23, 2020 · you can buy the CR2032 battery literally at any local drug store, hardware store, department store, or online. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the owners manual to change the battery, or follow the video you referenced. NO reprogramming is required of the FOB after a battery change... as long as you don't beak it.

Nov 27, 2021 · Fob low battery alert generally happens when the battery is ~ 3.1vdc (and these button batteries have a sharp cliff at the end of life so that is why the CRV is calibrated to issue a low voltage alert at about 3.1vdc. Be absolutely sure the battery is fully inserted and is making contact on both + and - sides. 3) take your time.

If I recall correctly, the Honda Fobs will start throwing a warning on vehicle the instrument panel when the fob battery is down to ~ 3.1vdc.
