Sep 1, 2020 · The NHTSA was hammered by false reports of this issue from a short seller. The short seller effectively made this issue invisible - his reports outumber actual ones 1000 to one or more! So to the NHTSA they all look fake and actual problems are a needle in a hay stack. He was still doing it last time I checked my car's recalls.
