The Evesham Abbey Trust has won a Heritage Lottery Grant of nearly £100,000 which is to go towards a £1million excavation and renovation project. The grounds of the Abbey have never been properly investigated and it’s hoped the project will shed some light on the 1,000-year history of the site The Mid-Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston and Chair of the Evesham Abbey Trust, Barry Baldelli, explain why this is such an exciting moment for the town.
